Recommendations
- Fabric color can vary from one dye lot to another. To ensure that all materials are from the same dye lot, please order shades for the same room at the same time.
No Drill
- Mounting adhesive is most effective on smooth, clean surfaces, and is less effective on textured surfaces like walls or raw wood. For any application, clean the surface well and allow it to dry fully before mounting for best adhesion.
Good to Know
- Only available in outside mount.
- We do not recommend installing Adjustable Roman Door Shades directly to your window pane.
- No deductions taken. Product measurements may vary +/- 1/8" from ordered size.
- 6” Valance comes standard on Adjustable Roman Door Shades.
- Number of straps varies by width. Shades with widths up to 37 1/2" will receive two straps, widths 37 1/2"-61" receive three straps, and widths 61"-84" receive four straps.
- We recommend 4+ inches be added to the width of your shade when outside mounting to prevent light gaps.
- The length of the straps on Adjustable Roman Door Shades does not allow for them to fold all the way up, and fabric will always cover approximately 1/4 of the door.
- Hold down brackets are not available on this product.
- Colors Golden Ecru, Midnight Blue, Rainstorm, Robins Nest, and Seaglass will have a color coordinated liner, and will look slightly different on the back of the shade. For all other fabrics, material will be the same on the front and back.
- Due to an extra layer of fabric included in production, finished products may have less light transparency in comparison to single-layer fabric samples.
- Fabric color can vary from one dye lot to another. To ensure that all materials are from the same dye lot, please order shades for the same room at the same time.
- Fabric Roman shades may have wrinkles in the material after installation. Most minor wrinkling will smooth out over several days. For quicker results, you can use a garment steamer on the back of the shade, being careful to avoid direct contact with the fabric.
Outside Mount Instructions
An outside mount is a great choice for better light coverage, since it fully covers the window and frame. To get the right fit, you’ll need to account for a few extra measurements when placing your order. We’ll custom make your shade to the exact dimensions you provide—no automatic additions are made.
Flat Surface Requirements
Start by choosing where you’d like to mount your shade. You’ll need at least 1-2½” of flat mounting space. For more details, check the product page and review the “Specifications” tab.
Measuring the width
- For the width, measure the window opening in three places (top, middle, and bottom), and use the widest of the three measurements.
- You’ll use that measurement and add the recommended minimum of 4 inches. This will ensure the window is properly covered.
- Use this width when ordering.
Measuring the height
- Measure the top left, center, and top right of the window to find the height.
- You’ll use the largest of the three measurements and add the recommended minimum of 4 inches. This will ensure the window is properly covered.
- If you have several windows in a room that are all similar in height, order all of them at the largest height to ensure similar pleats.
Measuring Tips
- Use a steel measuring tape
- If you get a 1/16" or 1/32" increment for width, round down to the nearest 1/8"
- SelectBlinds applies all necessary deductions; do not adjust width.
