Fit & Factory Deductions
We will make all the necessary deductions based on the measurements you provide. Do not make your own deductions. Don’t add to the width to make up for any deductions that we will take. For more light coverage, choose an outside mount. See the deductions chart for the deductions per collection.
Recommendations
- Deductions may vary +/- 1/8". Do not account for factory deductions when measuring for your shade. Deduction information detailed in the table below.
- Products come with extra fabric to conceal the roller tube.
- To ensure color consistency and minimize dye lot variation, order all shades for the same room at the same time.
Good to Know
- For optimal light control, the roller fabric should overlap the window opening by at least 2 inches on each side, adding 4 inches to the overall width, when selecting Outside Mount.
- Valance and Bottom Rail color coordinated white, to match fabric.
- Built with a PVC headrail, bottom rail, endcaps and valance for long-lasting performance and durability.
- There will be roughly a 1” light gap between the top of the fabric roll and the headrail on inside mount when the shade is fully extended.
- There will be roughly 1/2" light gap on both sides on inside mount when the shade is fully extended.
- These fabrics are not privacy shades and will allow visibility through them depending on the lighting
- Effortless operation featuring a Free-Stop cordless mechanism with a defaulted Standard Height of 72".
- The included mechanism will have circular holes to allow for easy adjustment of the shade's tension.
Inside Mount Instructions
To ensure an inside mount will work for your window, start by checking that you have enough mounting depth. You can find the exact requirements under the “Specifications” tab on the product page of the item you are considering.
Measuring the width
- Start by measuring the width from the inside edge of the window’s frame at the top.
- If you get a 1/16” or 1/32” increment, round down to the nearest 1/8”. (For example, if the smallest measurement is 24 9/16", round down to 24 1/2". If it's 24 3/8", no need to round down.)
- This will be the width you order.
Measuring the height
- Start by measuring the height from the inside of the window’s frame (the left, middle, and right).
- Record the largest height out of the 3 measurements up to the nearest 1/8”.
- If you get a 1/16” or 1/32” increment, round up to the nearest 1/8”. (For Example, If the largest measurement is 24 9/16", round up to 24 5/8". If it's 24 1/2", no need to round up.)
- This will be the height you order.
Outside Mount Instructions
An outside mount is a great choice for better light coverage, since it fully covers the window and frame. To get the right fit, you’ll need to account for a few extra measurements when placing your order. We’ll custom make your shade to the exact dimensions you provide—no automatic additions are made.
Flat Surface Requirements
Start by choosing where you’d like to mount your shade. You’ll need at least 1-2½” of flat mounting space. For more details, check the product page and review the “Specifications” tab.
Measuring the width
- The width of the window needs to be exact. Start with measuring from the top of the window opening.
- You’ll use that measurement and add the recommended minimum of 4 inches. This will ensure the window is properly covered.
- You now have the correct width to use when ordering your solar shades.
Measuring the height
- The height of the window needs to be exact. Start with measuring at the left, the middle, and finish up by measuring the right side of the window opening. You’ll use the largest of the three measurements and add the recommended minimum of 4 inches. This will ensure the window is properly covered.

Measuring Tips
- Use a steel measuring tape
- If you get a 1/16" or 1/32" increment for width, round down to the nearest 1/8"
