Fit & Factory Deductions
Recommendations
- Fabric color can vary from one dye lot to another. To ensure that all materials are from the same dye lot, please order shades for the same room at the same time.
- Multiple shade orders of different heights may not have the same size pleats. We recommend ordering all shades using the longest length in the room and with the same lift system.
- When no valance is selected fabric will fall over the top of the headrail (waterfall style), and can be 2+ inches from the wall on outside mount. We recommend 4+ inches be added to the width of your shade when outside mounting to prevent light gaps.
No Drill
- IMPORTANT MEASURING TIP: If Click2Fit No-Drill Blinds is chosen, take all three standard width measurements (top, middle, bottom) to check for variance, but be sure to input the exact measurement of the top of your window frame into the width field. Compare the three measurements, and if the variance between them exceeds 1/4", Click2Fit No-Drill Blinds may not fit properly.
- Click2Fit No-Drill Blinds is only available with Inside Mount and Cordless Lift.
- Factory deduction up to 5/8" off the Click2Fit No-Drill Blinds headrail.
- Click2Fit No-Drill Blinds headrail is only available in color white.
Good to Know
- Deductions may vary +/- 1/8". Do not account for factory deductions when measuring for your shade. Deduction information detailed in the table below.
- Cordless shades have no visible lift cords on the front of the shade. Raise and lower the shade by pushing or pulling the clear hem grip attached to a concealed bar on the back of the shade, just above the bottom hem bar. The integrated cordless control system holds the shade securely at any desired position.
- Soft Fold and Pleated Fold will cause some discontinuity in the pattern due to pleats.
- Pleated Fold with a Blackout liner will have Blackout Strips applied to the rear of each pleat to cover light gaps caused by pinholes.
- The length of the bottom pleat will range between 3" - 9" depending on the total length of the shade.
- When selecting Continuous Cord Loop, please note the chain will be a clear plastic chain.
- With all lift systems, bottom pleat may not fully retract with other pleats when fully raised.
- Outside mounts with motorization will be 1" wider at the headrail than ordered width.
- Edge binding is 2" wide.
- Material will always cover a portion of your window, even when fully raised. Please call in for considerations.
- Motorized options are powered by rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, which will be shipped at or below 30% charge for safety. Fully charge your shades before use for optimal performance.
- Hold down brackets are not available on this product.
- Coverings over 48” wide will have vertical seams.
- The Blackout Liner only comes in white.
- Lift cords are located on back of shade for a clean, uncluttered look on front.
- Continuous Cord Loop lift and Motorization lift will have a valance for outside mount only. Cordless lift will not have a valance on inside or outside mount.
- Fabric Roman window coverings may appear wrinkled after installation. Most minor wrinkling will smooth out after hanging for several days. For quicker results, use a garment steamer or iron on the back of the shade, being careful to avoid direct contact with the fabric.
SelectBlinds Automation
- SelectBlinds Automation is our latest innovation in motorized control, offering seamless two-way communication between your smartphone and shades, with support for unlimited shades, customizable scenes, and flexible timers.
- For an average-sized shade under typical usage (raising and lowering once per day) the internal rechargeable battery will last around 6 months. BThe battery can be recharged up to 500 times. It takes approximately 7 hours to recharge the motor when fully depleted.
- The internal rechargeable battery requires a 5V DC compatible charger, which is sold separately as a charging kit. The kit is available in white only and includes a power block and a 120” charging cable equipped with a USB-C connection. At least one charging kit should be added to your order,
- The 5-channel remote can control up to 10 individual window treatments. Motorization lift system upgrade does not include remote. A remote is not required for system operation, but if remote control operation is desired, we recommend adding one remote to your order for every room of shades.
- The Wall Mount Kit includes a wall bracket, magnetic wall plate, 2 screws, and 2 drywall anchors. The wall bracket can be installed with provided screws or with 3M Command Strips (not provided) for flexible installation.
- Never lose your remote again! The Remote Wall Mount is simple to install and provides a convenient magnetic home for your remote.
- Programming for your shades and accessories is done in the SelectBlinds Automation App. Refer to the motorization guide linked below for more information.

Inside Mount Instructions
To ensure an inside mount will work for your window, start by checking that you have enough mounting depth. You can find the exact requirements under the “Specifications” tab on the product page of the item you are considering.
Measuring the Width
- Begin by measuring the width of the window. Measure from left to right and measure at the top, middle, and then bottom of the window.
- Write down the narrowest width of the 3 measurements down to the closest 1/8".
- If you are getting a 1/16" or 1/32" increment, round down to the nearest 1/8". (For example, if the narrowest measurement is 24 9/16", round down to 24 1/2". If it's 24 3/8", no need to round down.)
- This is the width you will need to order for your window.
Measuring the height
- Measure the height from top to bottom, starting at the top left, then moving to the center, and then measuring from the top right to the window sill
- Document the largest height out of the 3 measurements up to the closest 1/8".
- If you are getting a 1/16" or 1/32" increment, round up to the nearest 1/8". (For Example, If the largest measurement is 24 9/16", round up to 24 5/8". If it's 24 1/2", no need to round up.)
- If you have several windows in a room that are all very similar in height, order all of them at the largest height to ensure similar pleat sizes.
Outside Mount Instructions
An outside mount is a great choice for better light coverage, since it fully covers the window and frame. To get the right fit, you’ll need to account for a few extra measurements when placing your order. We’ll custom make your shade to the exact dimensions you provide—no automatic additions are made.
Flat Surface Requirements
Start by choosing where you’d like to mount your shade. You’ll need at least 1-2½” of flat mounting space. For more details, check the product page and review the “Specifications” tab.
Measuring the width
- For the width, measure the window opening in three places (top, middle, and bottom), and use the widest of the three measurements.
- You’ll use that measurement and add the recommended minimum of 4 inches. This will ensure the window is properly covered.
- Use this width when ordering.
Measuring the height
- Measure the top left, center, and top right of the window to find the height.
- You’ll use the largest of the three measurements and add the recommended minimum of 4 inches. This will ensure the window is properly covered.
- If you have several windows in a room that are all similar in height, order all of them at the largest height to ensure similar pleats.
Measuring Tips
- Use a steel measuring tape
- If you get a 1/16" or 1/32" increment for width, round down to the nearest 1/8"
- If you get a 1/16" or 1/32" increment for height, round up to the nearest 1/8"
- SelectBlinds applies all necessary deductions; do not adjust width.
