Fit & Factory Deductions
We will make all the necessary deductions based on the measurements you provide. Do not make your own deductions. Don’t add to the width to make up for any deductions that we will take. For more light coverage, choose an outside mount. See the deductions chart for the deductions per collection.
Recommendations
- Awntech® awnings are designed for sun protection only and should be fully retracted during rain, snow, or winds exceeding 30 MPH to prevent damage.
- Mounting hardware is not included. Fasteners must be selected based on your specific wall material (brick, wood, siding, etc.).
- Brackets must be mounted directly into structural studs or beams for a secure install.
- Wall surface irregularities (like uneven brick or bowed wood) may cause sagging. Use 2–4 washers behind the lower bracket holes to level and pitch the awning correctly.
- Minimum mounting height recommended is 8' to allow proper head clearance when the awning is fully extended.
- Can be mounted to various surfaces including wood, brick, stone, stucco, and siding. If unsure, consult a contractor before installation.
- Assistance is required for installation—use at least two people for awnings 12' wide or greater.
- Damage during transit must be reported within 5 days of delivery. Refuse shipment if exterior damage appears severe.
- Awntech® retractable awnings do not include field service or installation. We recommend hiring a local contractor if needed.
- Adjustments to front bar angle may be needed after installation. See install guide for pitch correction using bracket spacers.
Good to Know
- This awning does not include a cassette or hood. It is designed to showcase the open framework and function of the unit.
- Framework is heavy-duty steel and aluminum with a white powder-coated finish.
- Damage caused by pooled water, snow load, or wind stress is not covered under warranty.
- Manual awnings feature a left-side crank orientation by default.
- Awning fabric is made from Beauty-Mark® 100% solution-dyed acrylic for vibrant, fade-resistant color.
- Color and texture may vary slightly due to dye-lot differences or lighting conditions. This is normal for all fabrics.
- Awning does not support aftermarket bug or sun screen attachments. Adding unapproved fabric can cause mechanical issues and void warranty.
- This product does not support eave or roof mounting; wall-mount brackets only are available through SelectBlinds.
Measuring the Width
Awning Width: Measure the total length of wall space available. Choose a standard width based on this measurement.
Measuring the Height
Height (Awning to Floor): Minimum height should be 80 inches (6 ft 8 in) from the floor to the bottom of the awning. The ideal height is 8 feet (96 inches).
Mounting Space & Projection
Mounting Space: We recommend a minimum of 10 inches of clear horizontal mounting space for the full width of the awning.
Projection: This is the distance from the wall to the outer edge of the fully extended awning. Note valance height and desired pitch settings for your awning model.
