Fit & Factory Deductions
We will make all the necessary deductions based on the measurements you provide. Do not make your own deductions. Don’t add to the width to make up for any deductions that we will take. For more light coverage, choose an outside mount. See the deductions chart for the deductions per collection.
Recommendations
- Deductions may vary +/- 1/8". Do not account for factory deductions when measuring for your blinds. Deduction information detailed in the table below.
- Valance and slats may not perfectly match due to dye lots. To ensure consistency, order all blinds for the same room at the same time.
Good to Know
- Inside mount valances are straight-cut and 1/8" narrower than your ordered width.
- Headrail will be color-coordinated based on your selected color. Included valance will match the color of your slats and cover the headrail once installed.
- Valances come standard with secure magnetic clips, which hooks and magnetizes your valance to the steel headrail.
- Any valance over 72" will be spliced, and joined with hidden connectors.
- Cordless lift comes standard with a wand tilt on the left. When the shade is raised, a small plastic cord anchor will be visible along the bottom rail.
- Cordless blinds ordered over 72" wide will require more force when closed. This is normal and will not cause any damage to the blind.
- Cloth tapes are 1" wide except for the Powder colors, which are 1 1/4" wide.
- Motorized options are powered by rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, which will be shipped at or below 30% charge for safety. Fully charge your shades before use for optimal performance.
SelectConnect Bridge
- The SelectConnect Bridge is compatible with almost all Motorization systems we offer. (Not compatible with Panel Tracks, Wood Blinds, or the SelectBlinds Automation system)
- The SelectConnect Bridge is only compatible with remote-operated shades. (shades that use both Wand + Remote are compatible, Wand-only shades are not compatible)
- You must have Wi-Fi access in areas where products are installed for controller to work.
- Download of free Bond Home App on iOS (Apple) or Android devices required.
- Controller range is approximately 150' or 30 blinds/shades. One controller per floor is recommended for use in typical size homes. However, multiple units may be needed for full coverage depending on the location of window coverings and the layout and construction materials of your home.

Remote Motorization
- It's highly recommended that each blind be programmed to its own channel.
- Pairing multiple blinds to the same channel may cause programming errors, and is NOT recommended.
- Motor antenna should not come in contact with any metal parts. This may interfere with remote signals.
- At least 1 charging cord is recommended per order.
- Battery operated white remote comes included with a lithium battery CR 2450 – 3v.
- Remote reaches from approximately 260 feet away from blind.
- Remote is already programmed to the motorized blind. All that is required is to connect the battery to the motor and your shade is ready to operate.
- Motorization remote is not included and at least one remote is needed per order.
- Motorization charger not included.

Inside Mount Instructions
To ensure an inside mount will work for your window, start by checking that you have enough mounting depth. You can find the exact requirements under the “Specifications” tab on the product page of the item you are considering.
Measuring the width
- Measure the exact width (left to right) of the inside edge of the window frame in three places (top, middle, and bottom).
- Record the smallest width out of the 3 measurements down to the nearest 1/8”.
- If you are getting a 1/16” or 1/32” increment, round down to the nearest 1/8”. (For example, if the smallest measurement is 24 9/16", round down to 24 1/2". If it's 24 3/8", no need to round down.)
- This is the width you will order.
Measuring the height
- Measure the exact height (top to bottom) of the window frame in three places (top left, center, and top right down to the window sill).
- Record the largest height out of the 3 measurements up to the nearest 1/8”.
- If you are getting a 1/16” or 1/32” increment, round up to the nearest 1/8”. (For Example, If the largest measurement is 24 9/16", round up to 24 5/8". If it's 24 1/2", no need to round up.)
- This is the height that you will order.
Outside Mount Instructions
An outside mount is a great choice for better light coverage, since it fully covers the window and frame. To get the right fit, you’ll need to account for a few extra measurements when placing your order. We’ll custom make your shade to the exact dimensions you provide—no automatic additions are made.
Flat Surface Requirements
Start by choosing where you’d like to mount your shade. You’ll need at least 1-2½” of flat mounting space. For more details, check the product page and review the “Specifications” tab.
Measuring the width
- Measure the exact width of the window opening in three places (top, middle, and bottom).
- Record the largest width out of the 3 measurements.
- You’ll use that measurement and add the recommended minimum of 4 inches. For example, if the window opening is 72”, it would be helpful to order 76”. This will provide 2” of coverage on each side of the window for maximum privacy and light gap coverage.
- You can make the additions as small or as large as you like, but the above example is a good rule of thumb to follow.
- This is the width you will order.
Measuring the height
- Measure the exact height of the window opening in three places (top left, center, and top right down to the bottom sill).
- Record the largest height out of the 3 measurements.
- You’ll use the largest of the three measurements and add the recommended minimum of 4 inches. For example, if the window height is 36” inches, it would be helpful to order 40”. This will provide enough flat surface to mount the blind on top as well as maximum privacy and light gap coverage.
- You can make the additions as small or as large as you would like, but the above example is a good rule of thumb.
- This is the height that you will order.
Measuring Tips
- Use a steel measuring tape
- If you get a 1/16" or 1/32" increment for width, round down to the nearest 1/8"
- If you get a 1/16" or 1/32" increment for height, round up to the nearest 1/8"
- SelectBlinds applies all necessary deductions; do not adjust width.
