SelectBlinds' 3/4" single cell blackout shades are made from a beautiful 100% polyester fabric that is extremely durable, yet unbelievably soft to the touch. Our single cell blackout shades are available in a selection of 3 neutral colors and have a white color backing to assure a uniform appearance from the street. Using a Mylar insert, these cell shades are great for room darkening, while maintaining an elegant feel. These are the absolute best blinds at the best price you can find. I shoped around before I decided to try selectblinds.com and I am so glad I did. I saved $400 vs. using Bargain Blinds, which had a huge selection but were overprice. I will definitely be using Select Blinds again and would highly recommend them!!!

they look good though the Honeycomb sags slightly at the top. Firts time with Honeycomb shades, next time I would go with the double this may help keep their shape better.

I looked at blackout shades at local retailers and on the net before deciding that Selectblinds offered the best value. Their price was way below retail, shipping was free, we received delivery two days after ordering, and the blinds look beautiful on the window. Although mounting the blinds into the clips can be tricky, anyone reasonably handy can self-measure and self-install this product. I am extremely pleased with the quality, price and service from Selectblinds and highly recommend them.

We just installed all new windows in our house - 23 to be exact!! I was so excited until I realized I had to buy all new window treatments & install them as well. We went to a couple of places in town & got estimates & the price was close to what it cost us for the windows. Not a good thing!! Needless to say when I went on the website & saw how resonable it would be to cover all my windows - with the shades that I wanted & with the options I wanted - I didn't hesitate to order. I did however order the samples first which is a good idea. I am so happy with my honeycomb shades. The top down bottom up option is great! I couldn't be happier & with the price we paid my husband couldn't be happier either! So, in short, my experience with the ordering, delivery, product, installation, etc.... is all very positive!!

Here are some quick tips and notes to remember:
  • Use a steel measuring tape
  • Round down to the nearest 1/8" for width
  • Round up to the nearest 1/8" for height

Measuring Instructions for Cellular Shades

All cellular shades except VuThru and EcoTrack
Width
  • Measure the exact width (left to right) of the inside edge of the window frame in three places (top, middle and bottom).
  • Take the smallest of the three measurements.
  • Write down that size making sure that it is the first number of the measurement. This is the width you will order.
  • *Headrail will be made 1/4" less than width ordered, including endcaps. Fabric will be made 1/2 inch less than width ordered.
Height
  • Measure the exact height (top to bottom) from the top inside edge down to the window sill in three places.
  • Take the largest of the three measurements.
  • Write down that size making sure that it is the second number of the measurement. This is the height you will order.
*width and length measurements may vary +/- 1/8"

VuThru Shades
Width
  • Measure the exact width (left to right) of the inside edge of the window frame in three places (top, middle and bottom).
  • Take the smallest of the three measurements.
  • Write down that size making sure that it is the first number of the measurement. This is the width you will order.
  • Inside mount headrail will be plus 1/4". Inside mount fabric width will be ordered width less 1/2".
Height
  • Measure the exact height (top to bottom) from the top inside edge down to the window sill in three places.
  • Take the largest of the three measurements.
  • Write down that size making sure that it is the second number of the measurement. This is the height you will order.
  • When the vanes are expanded (closed), the bottom rail touches the window sill. When the vanes are compressed (open), the bottom rail may lift off the sill slightly. This is normal.
*width and length measurements may vary +/- 1/8"

How to Measure EcoTrack Products

EcoTrack products are available as inside mount only.

Width
  • Measure the exact width (left to right) of the inside edge of the window frame in 3 places (top, middle, and bottom).
  • Take the smallest of the 3 measurements; this is the width that you will order.
  • Factory will make the following deductions:
       o Headrails: 1" less than width ordered.
       o Fabric: 1 1/8" less than width ordered.
  • Mounting requirements:
       o Minimum inside mount depth: 1 ½".
       o Flush inside mount: 2".
Height
  • Measure the exact height (top to bottom) from the top inside edge down to the window sill in 3 places.
  • Take the largest of the 3 measurements; this is the height that you will order.
  • Factory will make the following deductions:
       o The side tracks will be 1/8" shorter than the height ordered.
*width and length measurements may vary +/- 1/8"


All cellular shades except Vuthru
Width
  • Measure the exact width (left to right) of the wooden or metal window frame or how wide you would like the blind or shade to be.
  • Make sure to measure wide enough as to cover the entire window and provide maximum light gap coverage. Example: If the window opening is 72", it might be helpful to order 76". This will provide 2" coverage on each side of the window.
  • There is no rule on the width of blinds other than to make sure that it is wide enough to cover the opening.
  • Fabric will be made at ordered width and headrail will be ordered width plus ¼"
  • Write down that size making sure that it is the first number of the measurement.
Height
  • Measure the height you would like the blind to be by measuring top to bottom.
  • We recommend adding about 3 or 4 inches to this number to insure maximum light gap coverage and to cover the window completely.
  • Please be sure to know that the height measurement will always include the headrail. Example: if the height ordered is 50" this will be the height including the headrail (from the very top of the headrail to the bottom rail).
  • You will want to mount the headrail above the window frame. Please make a note that some windows have trim that might interfere with mounting so it's important to measure above the trim if this is the case.

VuThru Shades
Width
  • Measure the exact width (left to right) of the wooden or metal window frame or how wide you would like the blind or shade to be.
  • Make sure to measure wide enough as to cover the entire window and provide maximum light gap coverage. Example: If the window opening is 36", it might be helpful to order 40". This will provide 2" coverage on each side of the window.
  • There is no rule on the width of blinds other than to make sure that it is wide enough to cover the opening.
  • Write down that size making sure that it is the first number of the measurement. This is the width you will order.
  • Headrail will measure ordered width plus 3/8".
  • Fabric will measure ordered width.
Height
  • Measure the height you would like the blind to be by measuring top to bottom.
  • We recommend adding about 3 or 4 inches to this number to insure maximum light gap coverage and to cover the window completely.
  • Please be sure to know that the height measurement will always include the headrail. Example: if the height ordered is 80" this will be the height including the headrail (from the very top of the headrail to the bottom rail).
  • You will want to mount the headrail above the window frame. Please make a note that some windows have trim that might interfere with mounting so it's important to measure above the trim if this is the case.
  • Headrail is 2 1/8" in height.
