Honeycomb/Cellular shades
Honeycomb/Cellular shades provide a very soft and warm feel to any room. They also greatly improve the energy efficiency of your home, making them an excellent Eco-friendly choice. Honeycomb/Cellular shades have traditionally functioned only as shades, but that has changed. Modern Cellular shades have been designed so they can also function in much the same way as horizontal blinds.
With traditional Cellular shades, the standard way of letting light into your room is by simply pulling the lift cord to raise the bottom of the shade to let in light. There is also the option on most honeycomb shades to go with a cordless option, making them the safest option for homes with small children.
Another popular option in shades for letting in light is the top down bottom up feature. Like a standard shade you can of course raise the bottom up, but unlike a normal shade you can also lower the top down. This feature on your window shades gives you much more control of how the light gets into your room, as well as how much of your room can be seen from the outside. This is great for bedrooms where you want to wake up to the morning sun, and still maintain privacy for your room.
Window Shades for any look in any room
For those places where you want the look of a cellular shade, but are most interested in a budget minded solution, you can go with a Pleated Shade. Pleated shades are very similar to honeycomb shades, with the biggest difference being the pleated shade is a single layer of material, and a honeycomb shade, or cellular shade is a dual layer of material that is filled in with tiny cells.

In addition to the VuThru Insulation Blinds, another soft window covering option is Sheer shades. Sheer shades actually combine the components of a horizontal blind with that of a window shade. A sheer shade can remain fully extended to cover your entire window, yet you can tilt the horizontal inner slats open, giving you a full, slightly filtered view to the outside. That is the beauty of sheer shades.

Honeycomb/Cellular shades options
The size of the cell itself varies from as small as 3/8" to as big as 3/4". It really depends on what looks best to you. Larger pleats, such as our ¾" Cell shades are most commonly used in larger windows. While the 3/8" cell shades and smaller cell shades will be perfect for a small to mid-size window.
Single cell or double cell construction is also a choice. The single cell construction will weigh less, so for large windows, this may be your best choice. The double cell construction will provide better insulation. Our best selling product is the 3/8" double cell.
When deciding which product will work best, also consider the opaqueness or light level. Light filtering cellular shades allow light to gently filter through the shade, which actually gives your room a very warm and cozy feel. Light filtering cellular shades still provide privacy. Blackout shades will provide the most light blockage possible. These shades are ideal for bedrooms and media rooms, where complete darkness is the desired effect.
Another really nice option is continuous cord loop. The lift cord stays the same length, eliminating the extra cord hanging down when the shade is raised. This is a very good safety feature, especially if you have small children. The wall cord cleat will have to be used for the continuous cord loop option to provide the added child and pet safety. Please note that not all features and options are available on every shade, and not all can be bundled together.
Top Down/Bottom Up is an option on many of our Cellular Shades. This handy little option allows you to let the window shade drop from the top, as well as rising from the bottom. This is a great way to maintain your privacy while still allowing light to come into your room.
