Shades look good and conserve energy

I bought these blinds as my parents also have the same ones and I liked the way they looked and work. Work meaning that they have the top down bottom up option. My living room windows overlook a public park, which is a nice view, but you don't want people to be looking in all the time. The top down feature allows me to still see out and let more direct light in without them viewing my home.<br><br>The other reason I like the top down, and the honey comb blinds, is because they do help conserve energy by blocking the cooler air that comes off the window. I do have double pane windows but there is still some energy transfer. If it is chilly outside and I put the top down you don't let the heavier cold air out into the room (at least as fast). If you open from the bottom up you can feel the cold air fall on your feet.<br><br>The only negative I have is that there was a mix-up with one set of my blinds (luckly for the spare room and computer room) and I had to wait an extra 2 weeks for those blinds to be remade. I was told they were lost in the mail?? <br><br>I measured myself and installed them myself. Some words of wisdom: Look closely at the windows you are installing them on when you decide the side the pull string should be on. I have one where the string I will use most often is on the wrong side. I chose to have two blinds on 1 header on an 80+ inch wide window. It looks fine, but I am not too keen on the gap between the two blinds. I didn't think it would be as large as it is. About 3/16 - 1/4 of an inch. Get the samples, and pull them tight in front of the windows you will be covering at different times of the day so you can see the color changes (for the light filtering).<br><br>Overall, I am happy with my purchase.

We went to Home Depot to try to buy 2 blinds. We were told that someone needed to come out to measure for $50 but that would be deducted from our order. After the meausrment of these 2 small bedroom windows we went to their store to order. The cost of their 2 little blinds was well over $400 !!! Yikes.<br><br>We went home, went on line and found your really easy to use site. The same 2 blinds, with the same features that Home Depot wanted $400 for, were only around $150 from you.<br><br>We feel ripped off by Home Depot charging us for that measuring job since they did not tell us the money was non refundable and could only be used IF we purchased.<br><br>We have already told other friends about you and will certainly buy any future window coverings only from you.<br><br>Thank you,<br><br>Stephen & Barbara Stillman

These blinds were so easy to order, install and enjoy! Your online instructions were simple (good to have for the "inexperienced" customer). I was a bit nervous about ordering the correct size and went with precisley what your instructions said and it couldn't have been a better fit. My husband had them up (all 7) up within an hour. Your selection and values make it possible for any budget.

The best value on blinds I've found. These blinds cost less than other sources and they look better, too. You can't see the lift strings on these, unlike other pleated paper blinds. I got the continuous loop option and they work great. A couple of the blinds I ordered were very wide, too (10' and 11'). Most companies won't support such widths.

All cellular shades except Vuthru Width
Measure the exact width (left to right) of the wooden or metal window frame or how wide you would like the blind or shade to be.
Make sure to measure wide enough as to cover the entire window and provide maximum light gap coverage. Example: If the window opening is 72", it might be helpful to order 76". This will provide 2" coverage on each side of the window.
There is no rule on the width of blinds other than to make sure that it is wide enough to cover the opening.
Fabric will be made at ordered width and headrail will be ordered width plus ¼"
Write down that size making sure that it is the first number of the measurement.
Height
Measure the height you would like the blind to be by measuring top to bottom.
We recommend adding about 3 or 4 inches to this number to insure maximum light gap coverage and to cover the window completely.
Please be sure to know that the height measurement will always include the headrail. Example: if the height ordered is 50" this will be the height including the headrail (from the very top of the headrail to the bottom rail).
You will want to mount the headrail above the window frame. Please make a note that some windows have trim that might interfere with mounting so it's important to measure above the trim if this is the case.
