Blackout is an option to block out as much light as possible. Most blackout shades are used in bedrooms to keep the room dark during the early morning hours or later in the day. Blackout shades are very popular in baby rooms as they darken the room and create a relaxed environment for the baby to sleep in. Blackout shades are also used in theater rooms as they create the perfect theater atmosphere.

If complete blackout is needed, we recommend ordering outside mount. An inside mount shade will have small gaps between the shade and the window sill where light will filter through. If inside mount is needed, we have our EcoTrack products that are built with inside side tracks that will close that gap between the shade fabric and the window sill.
