Headrail dimension - 3 1/8" x 2 7/8". Minimum depth required for an inside mount - 3/4". Minimum depth for side mount - 1 1/4". Maximum shade width for side mount - 48". Depth required for flush inside mount - 3 5/8". Minimum surface area required for mounting - 3/4". Inside mount headrail will mesure ordered width minus ¼”. Fabric will measure ordered width minus 1 1/8”. Outside mount headrail will measure ordered width + 3/16". Fabric will measure 3/4" less than ordered. The window shading must only be raised a maximum of 24" in the open position to avoid damaging the fabric. Battery wand for motorized shades is 17" long and can be mounted to the back of headrail or to the wall near the shade.

Great fit.

This is my third time ordering from Select Blinds and I have not hesitated to recommend them to my friends or anyone I may meet in a store for that matter. The fit is always perfect and easy to use website. I have only had one suggestion, on the sheer room darkening blinds the "knot" or fused part of the cord is in a place where it is hard to get through the mechanish in the top of the blind. It did cause a piece to break on one of my blinds but seems to still be working fine therefore I have not returned it.

Blinds great - packing needs improvement

Blinds were as advertised, cut to my measurements, instructions easy to understand, hardware was sturdy - no problems with the product. <br>HOWEVER - multiple boxes in my order were open on arrival. The ends of the boxes did not hold up to the movement of the blinds back and forth. Some boxes had their ends taped in transit. Suggest you tape them before, along with the staples used.

Measuring Instructions for Sheer Shades

Width

Measure the exact width (left to right) of the inside edge of the window frame in three places (top, middle and bottom).
Take the smallest of the three measurements.
Write down that size making sure that it is the first number of the measurement. This is the width you will order.

Deductions

Headrail will measure ordered width minus 1/4".
Fabric will measure ordered width minus 1 1/8".

Height

Measure the exact height (top to bottom) from the top inside edge down to the window sill in three places.
Take the largest of the three measurements.
Write down that size making sure that it is the second number of the measurement. This is the height you will order.

Your sheer horizontals will be fabricated to the exact lengh ordered, when the vanes are in the open position. When the vanes are rotated to the closed position, the shading will become _3/8" longer.
When closed on a inside mount, a slight puckering may occur on the lower most sheer section beccause of the contact with the sill. You may slightly raise the shading off the window sill. If preferred, the shading can be ordered _3/8" less than the measured length.

*width and length measurements may vary +/- 1/8"

Width

Measure the exact width (left to right) of the wooden or metal window frame or how wide you would like the blind or shade to be.
Make sure to measure wide enough as to cover the entire window and provide maximum light gap coverage. Example: If the window opening is 36", it might be helpful to order 40". This will provide 2" coverage on each side of the window.
There is no rule on the width of blinds other than to make sure that it is wide enough to cover the opening.
Write down that size making sure that it is the first number of the measurement. This is the width you will order.
Headrail will measure ordered width plus 1/4".
Fabric will measure ordered width minus 3/4".

Height

Measure the height you would like the blind to be by measuring top to bottom.
We recommend adding about 3 or 4 inches to this number to insure maximum light gap coverage and to cover the window completely.
Please be sure to know that the height measurement will always include the headrail. Example: if the height ordered is 80" this will be the height including the headrail (from the very top of the headrail to the bottom rail).
You will want to mount the headrail above the window frame. Please make a note that some windows have trim that might interfere with mounting so it's important to measure above the trim if this is the case.
Headrail is 2 7/8" in height.
The length of the shade will be the exact length ordered when the vanes are tilted in the open position. When the vanes are tilted shut the shade will become 3/8" longer.
