Cornice boards are ideal for French doors, as there is no free flowing material to get caught in the door jamb. Cornice boards are made to your exact measurements, and offer 4 different cuts at the bottom to fit in with your home or office design style. Cornice boards are versatile enough to look great with window shades, window blinds, and window draperies.

Modern Cornice
  • Cornice boards add a decorating accent to any window or door
  • A perfect match for any wood blind or woven wood shade
Shaped Cornice
  • Ideal solution for French doors
  • Coordinates best with softer looking window fashions
Tailored Cornice
  • Straight bottom edge is perfect for use over any horizontal blind
  • Cornice boards are perfect for French doors

Upholstered cornice boards are made of upholstery fiber fill and decorative fabric that is supported by an all wood frame. Unlike valances, cornice boards have no free flowing material or swags. Depending on your exact decorating need, the upholstered cornice board can give a cleaner look to the overall design of your window covering. SelectBlinds offers 4 styles of upholstered cornice boards that can be used to cover nearly every style of window blind or window shade. Each cornice board style requires a minimum width of 24”, and is made to an exact measurement in ½” increments starting at 24”. All 4 styles of cornice boards can be ordered with either a 4” return or 7” return. The return determines the distance that the front of the cornice board extends from the wall. A 4” return should be enough for most situations, but if you have draperies or an outside mount roller shade that extends from the wall in an outside mount bracket, the 7” return may be better for you. The 4 cornice board styles are:

  • Tailored cornice – the tailored cornice offers simple elegance with a straight bottom edge.
  • Shaped cornice – the shaped cornice has a single swag shape in the middle section that elongates as the size ordered widens.
  • Arched cornice – the arched cornice is actually the reverse of a swag, and like the shaped cornice, the center arch will elongate with the width of the cornice board ordered. The arch is met at either side with a straight bottom edge which has a 16” drop from the top of the cornice board.
  • Modern cornice – the modern cornice offers a straight bottom edge in the middle that angles down to slightly longer straight bottom towards the front edge of the cornice board. The modern cornice board is kind of a cross between the tailored cornice and the arched cornice, but with straight edges at the bottom of all lengths, which are 16” at the longest point.
