I kept putting off getting blinds because I was afraid of measuring incorrectly AND shocked at how much most places were charging. I kept looking at SelectBlinds then I would click off and do nothing. Finally, I decided that I would take a chance. I couldn't be happier. The website guides you through every phase--even going so far as to tell me I needed to cover a large window with 3 blinds instead of one because of the weight. The blinds arrived quickly, were easy to install, and fit the inside of the window frame perfectly.

For some reason a metal rod was in the hem of the blinds and they were too long. I had to open the hems and remove the rod, and reseal them again. Having said that I love the blinds and this experience would not put me off ordering more.Because of this I gave the overall rating of 4 stars

  • Maximum width: 96"

  • Due to the natural characteristics of the product, there may be a 1/2"-3/8" variance on length.
  • Headrail dimension - 1 1/2" x 5/8".
  • Minimum depth for an inside mount is 1". Minimum for a flush mount is 2".
  • Stack size formula - add 4" for headrail and 1" for every 12" in shade length in order to determine the size of the stack.
  • Minimum width for continuous cord loop is 24".
  • Minimum width for top down / bottom up is 24". Maximum width is 72".
  • To insure proper allignment, please inform us if shades will be mounted side by side
  • Pleasenote:This is a natural product and colors will vary season to season. It may not be possible to match previous orders.
  • All outside mount shades will come with a hold down bar and brackets. This bar can be removed if necessary by breaking the glued seal and pulling the rod out.

Measuring Instructions For

Inside Mount
- Inside Mount

Width:
  • Measure the exact width (left to right) of the inside edge of the window frame in three places (top, middle and bottom).
  • Take the smallest of the three measurements.
  • Write down that size making sure that it is the first number of the measurement. This is the width you will order.
    • *production department will deduct 1/4 inch of width on each side of blind, total of 1/2 inch on inside mounted blinds to allow for mounting brackets.

Height:
  • Measure the exact height (top to bottom) from the top inside edge down to the window sill in three places.
  • Take the largest of the three measurements.
  • Write down that size making sure that it is the second number of the measurement. This is the height you will order.

Measuring Instructions For

Outside Mount
- Outside Mount

Width:
  • Measure the exact width (left to right) of the wooden or metal window frame or how wide you would like the blind or shade to be.
  • Make sure to measure wide enough as to cover the entire window and provide maximum light gap coverage. Example: If the window opening is 36", it might be helpful to order 40". This will provide 2" coverage on each side of the window.
  • There is no rule on the width of blinds other than to make sure that it is wide enough to cover the opening.
  • Write down that size making sure that it is the first number of the measurement. This is the width you will order.

Height:
  • Measure the exact height (top to bottom) from the top inside edge down to the window sill in three places.
  • We recommend adding about 3 or 4 inches to this number to insure maximum light gap coverage and to cover the window completely.
  • You will want to mount the headrail above the window frame. Please make a note that some windows have trim that might interfere with mounting so it's important to measure above the trim if this is the case.
    • *width and length measurements may vary +/- 1/8"
