SelectBlinds.com co-founder Rick Steele is competing in the 2020 World Marathon Challenge February 6-12. That’s 7 marathons in 7 days on 7 continents. A challenging 183 miles. In 168 hours. For 20,000 pairs of shoes for those in need.
That’s crazy, right? Not if you know Rick. He’s running for Soles4Souls, a non-profit organization that turns unwanted shoes and clothing into opportunity for people in need across the U.S. and around the world to help them break the cycle of poverty.
Twenty thousand pairs of shoes can make a big difference, providing relief, health, hope and dignity to those who desperately need it. Just like beautiful blinds and window shades can change the look and feel of a home, the power of a good pair of shoes can literally change someone’s life.
Through its worldwide network of more than 1,200 non-profit partners, Soles4Souls distributes new and gently used shoes to help a child walk to school, restore someone’s self-esteem, cover the feet of those impacted by natural and other disasters, even help people start and sustain their own small business.
And that’s Rick’s goal. To change 20,000 lives with 20,000 pairs of shoes. That's why Select Blinds is proud to support his effort by taking a step in the right direction toward wearing out poverty. And why for every order placed from February 6 to February 12, we’re donating 2 pairs of new shoes to Soles4Souls.
