Inside mount means the window coverings will be mounted and hung on the inside of the window frame, or the ceiling. Not recommended for shallow windowsills. Outside mount means the window coverings will be mounted and hung outside of the window frame, making it ideal for shallow windowsills or for more complete light blockage by reducing the halo effect.

In partnership with the Victoria and Albert Museum, we present the V&A Printed Roman Shades, offering both light and privacy control. A fantastic DIY endeavor suitable for bedrooms and any space.

Opt for a pleated or soft fold. Most slight wrinkles will naturally fade over several days. Speed up the process by using a garment steamer on the back, avoiding direct fabric contact.

The headrail arrives in a matching wrapped fabric; alternatively, upgrade to a tailored 6” valance. Opt for Cordless Lift for a neat appearance or Motorization for enhanced convenience.

Recommendations

  • Factory will deduct approximately 1/2 inch from the provided width on inside mount orders with the standard headrail, and approximately 5/8 inch with the No-Drill Blinds headrail to ensure a proper fit. Deductions may vary +/- 1/8".
  • Fabric-wrapped headrail comes with cordless lift only. Motorized lift option has metal headrails with fabric attached to front only.
  • Multiple shade orders of different heights may not have the same size pleats. We recommend ordering all shades using the longest length in the room and with the same lift system.
  • Fabric on products ordered without 6" valance upgrade will fall over the top of the headrail (waterfall style).
  • If the 6" valance upgrade is chosen, the fabric will fall behind the headrail, closer to the wall and valance will cover the headrail.
  • Only Outside Mount shades ordered with a 6" valance will include valance returns.
  • When no valance is selected fabric will fall 2+ inches from the wall on outside mount. We recommend 4+ inches be added to the width of your shade when outside mounting to prevent light gaps.
  • Cordless shades without the 6” Valance upgrade will come with a mini valance on the back of the shade to hide the mechanism.
  • The mini valance on the back of the cordless shades will be the color of the chosen liner, or the color of the shade if no liner is chosen.
  • Optional blackout liner comes standard ivory, and both standard and blackout liner colors will be visible from street. Color of unlined shades will be seen from exterior.
  • Fabric color can vary from one dye lot to another. To ensure that all materials are from the same dye lot, please order shades for the same room at the same time.
  • Fabric Roman shades may have wrinkles in the material after installation. Most minor wrinkling will smooth out over several days. For quicker results, you can use a garment steamer on the back of the shade, being careful to avoid direct contact with the fabric.
  • Hold down brackets are not available on this product.
  • Motorized options for this product are not covered under our FIT Guarantee.
  • No-Drill Blinds Headrail is only available in the color white and will be visible after installation, with or without valance.
  • The locking mechanism on the No-Drill Blinds Headrail will be located on the right side.
  • The No-Drill Blinds Headrail option is only available for Inside Mount, requires 2 1/2" of depth to install, and is not recommended for use with PVC window frames.
  • IMPORTANT MEASURING TIP: If No-Drill Blinds Headrail is chosen, measure the exact width of the top of your window frame and input those dimensions into the width field. Do NOT take the smallest of three measurements, which may cause your No-Drill Blinds Headrail not to fit properly.

Motorization Details

  • Remote is already programmed to the motorized shade. All that is required is to connect the battery to the motor and your shade is ready to operate.
  • Rechargeable remote-control Motorization lift system upgrade includes rechargeable motor battery and charger.
Motorization Instructions
  • Battery charge will last up to 6 months based on an average-sized shade raised and lowered twice a day. It takes approximately 4 hours to recharge the motor when fully depleted.
  • Remote reaches from approximately 65-80 feet away from shade.
  • At least one remote is needed per order. The 5-channel remote allows you to operate up to 5 shades on a single frequency. When adding a multi-channel/frequency remote, please select 'No Remote' for any additional motorized shades you want to add and power with.
