Overall we are happy with the motorized Roman shades, they have worked very well for the 2 weeks we’ve had them up. The quality meets with our expectations. Installation was fairly straight forward, sure glad we triple checked our measurements, there’s not much room for error.
Our experience in dealing with some of the Selectblinds representatives leaves much to be desired. We spoke to 4 different individuals at various stages of the process. Some were very helpful, and checked their facts before answering our questions. Others had little knowledge of the product and gave misleading and wrong information. IE: I asked about the batteries in the motorized shades, I was told that they sat on top of the shade, and could simply be removed for charging, ‘if they ever really needed it.’ Truth is, the batteries are encapsulated within the motorized portion, they cannot be replaced, and must be charged with a cord & the provided charger. The website says nothing about how long to expect between charges, or how long the batteries may last before the entire motorized unit needs replaced. I am hoping that they only need charged every 6 months, and that they last a decade or longer, but I really have no idea. There were other inconsistencies with information we received as well. (I was told this product worked with Apple Wi-Fi, it doesn’t) Like I said, we are quite happy with the final product, and are anticipating satisfactory performance. The motorized unit is used by other brands, with apparent customer satisfaction.
Bottom line, if you do your own home work, the product and price are quite satisfactory. If you rely on some of the poorly trained staff, you may not get what you were anticipating. (Some of the staff are very knowledgeable, and quite helpful)
The company does respond well to questions and complaints after the fact, and does a nice job of seeking customer satisfaction.
