We have purchased many many blinds from this site, primarily the classic Roman shades and they have worked out great. Our home is 102 years old so our inside frame is only 1 3/4” inch deep. When these casual pleated Roman shades arrived, the header piece that mounts to the inside frame is 2 1/4” wide, and the mounting hardware adds another 1/4” of protrusion… when installed, the blinds protruded 3/4“ from the window frame! They looked terrible and were otherwise useless for what blinds are to accomplish. When we called customer service, the representative told us that the particular product required a minimum of 1 3/8” to fit within the frame. When I gave him the actual measurements of the product and explained how much the protrusion was, all we were offered was the “90-day policy” which is oh hey buy another round of blinds for the same price and then we will knock 10% off. That was unacceptable but we were willing to consider it and were told we would get a call back “momentarily” while a manager was consulted but that never happened.
I ended up removing the canvass material from the wooden head piece and ripped 9/16” off of it, stapling it all back together and just using screws instead of the mounting brackets in order for them to fit acceptably. I should not have had to do all that.
