We were in need of new blinds in our dining room. This room is subject to direct sun exposure from mid-day to sunset year round. As a result, this room represents our greatest heat gain in the house. I installed the blinds just in time for a record breaking heatwave where temperatures were over 20 deg F higher than average, for three consecutive days. Even given the 111 degree heat, with these blinds we saw a 20% reduction in AC operating times immediately. I was surprised and very happy about this!
The installation took me about an hour for two 48" wide, 84" tall units. They are a perfect complement to the rooms color palette and in spite of their ability to guard the interior space from extreme exterior heat, they are still relatively transparent so we can still enjoy somewhat of a back yard view when they are fully closed. This too was an unexpected bonus from my point of view.
