Bad Experience

Purchased 2x LightFiltering rollers in color Nomad with “continued loop” cords for our office. Here are my issues with these: * Doesn’t filter any light. My understanding of the product is that it would let some light in as opposed to room darkening shades (which I’ve purchased few and happy with them). However, there’s absolutely no difference between “light filtering” to “room darkening” rollers I purchased from Select Blinds. Customer care team blamed it on the darker shade color I picked, so be aware of the color effect. * The continues loop cord is a joke because it’s not continues. The cords is held by plastic piece which snaps off very easily. Only solution they can offer to the problem was to send me another one. I regret buying corded blinds. I’d suggest going with cordless. * The back side of the blind (side that’s visible from outside) is not white if anyone cares. I bought blinds for two rooms that are looking out the front of our house but windows look odd with different shades (from outside). Had I known, I’d have purchased the room darkening rollers because they have white backing and since the “light filtering” rollers don’t let light in anyways.

Hello Nasanzuu, I apologize because you had a negative experience with us due to your Light-Filtering Roller Shades not filtering light as you expected. Our goal is to provide a positive user experience, so any feedback given is greatly appreciated.
Frustrated

Again, my blinds do not automatically reroll themselves when pulled down. This happened before with another set. I should have learned my lesson.

*Review update*

This is an update to my previous review. I have received the remote that was missing from my original order. It was easy to pair and set up limits and a favorite setting (for sunny days when you need it down part way to cut glare on the TV. It seems to work well. Not sure how long the battery charge will last, but I have an outlet within cord reach and it would be hidden by the sheers I hung over the shades. Still have to find an elegant way to extend the brackets about a half inch because the shade rubs on the window trim since the brackets aren’t tall enough to raise the roller above the trim. I found brackets that will extend the sheers out so the roller shade doesn’t rub on them also. (We covered the roller shade roller with sheers because we didn’t like the look of the fascia. There was nothing wrong with it, just didn’t quite match the room). Still disappointed with the experience because it took multiple calls, a lot of hold time, a poor instruction sheet, a very negative review and 13 days to get a remote that should have been shipped with the order so they would operate. But, if they hold up to daily use and the motor doesn’t wear out (because there’s no way to use them without it) I’ll recommend them.

Wish I knew

I ordered these motorized with a remote and charger in late November. I contacted a design consultant to assure placement and my measurements. I’m doing an outside mount because my windows are not recessed. I’ve installed honeycomb and Roman blinds/shades on 13 other windows the past several years and they were outside mount, too. I installed the brackets on the trim per instructions. They fit perfectly. After t talking to the design consultant she said to add 4” to both the length and width and NEVER mount to the window trim for fear of splitting the wood. So, I get my roller blinds on the 4th of December, open the box to mount them on the 5th, and lo and behold, NO REMOTE! I called immediately to report this, and was on hold for 70 min. I was also trying to Live Chat at the same time. Responses when I got to a real human via Chat average 21 minutes between responses to my questions, and then I was disconnected and wasn’t let back on/couldn’t connect again. When I got someone on the phone, it sounded like they were at a party and she spent more time talking to the people there than me. I thought she said she’d send me a remote and install instructions, then hung up. I called back the next day and was told (after a 34 minute wait) that the remote was ordered. After 3 days of not seeing anything coming here via UPS,USPS or FedEx apps, I called back (another lengthy hold) and was told they were out of stock, but they think they were expecting a shipment in 48 hours and mine should be sent out in 5-7 days after they received them. I asked for a supervisor/manager. He called me back shortly after. He told me they indeed have them in stock and one should be shipped out in 5-7 business days. I got an email saying it went out on the 9th. It’s the 14th and is still not here. In the meantime, I decided to install the shade. The instructions appeared to be for something different, but I got the gist of what they meant. That is, with the exception of where to mount them. Instructions said (lots of install this/attach this/hang that with no detail as to how or where or sometimes what they were talking about) to install the brackets on the trim, though the consultant expressly said not to (and I couldn’t because I added extra width per the consultant). So I measured out each side, mounted the brackets to the sides and just above the trim, and attached the shade. I hooked up the charger and charged them in case I ever get a charger, and then I noticed that the shade rolled up doesn’t clear the window trim. When/if I get a remote and it works, the shade is going to drag across the wooden trim. Great! Now I have to block up the brackets to extend them out so the shade doesn’t drag. We didn’t like the fascia so we hung sheers, but the shade roll is too fat for the curtain rod and I have to extend them out too! This has been a horrible experience. Terrible customer service, missing remote, poor advice from the consulting team, 10 days since I got them and I still don’t know if they work!
