Beautiful but hard to install

The blinds are extremely high-quality, and are very attractive. However, the site, promotions and advertising says that installing them is “a cinch”. That is simply not true. Installing them is quite possibly one of the most challenging DYI projects you could undertake. Be very confident in your abilities if you choose to buy these.

They work well to block the light and heat

These cellular blinds do the job and we're happy with them. There are a few issues to be aware of. For one, the installation is not that smooth. The pictures in the instructions are not always self-evident, and I often had to refer to the parts explosion and then try things out with the blinds themselves. Also, the valance returns were too long and didn't fit. I could have hacksawed them, but decided to leave them off. Finally, the last step is to screw the bottom bracket to the wall, but there's no room to position one of their screws, let alone a screwdriver. I had to dig up a small screw with a hex head and use a wrench to screw it in from the side.

too expensive

Bought 2 of these for sliding doors. The magnet is poor and doesn't hold when it is all the way closed. Also it is impossible to leave open as it will not stay pushed back, it is like an accordion and doesn't stay smashed together and there is nothing to tie it back with.

Caution on buying more than 1 blind

Wish I had just ordered one vertical blind to see how it would fit in the installed location. The problem is that the vertical blind was not wide enough so that when it was completely opened, a portion of the blind is exposed, hence the entrance has about six inches covering the entrance way. That is, 53 inch width should have been 58 inches. Assume that the wider the blind, additional inches need to be added to ensure that the door entrance is not covered by the blind. Overall, blinds well constructed, final install did not enhance the rooms due to 3 to 5 inches hanging in entrance depending upon width of door entrance.
