I first ordered Select Blinds back in 2011 on a tip from a neighbor, and was very satisfied with that decision. The three blinds I ordered then have held up well, considering I adjust them almost daily. The braided nylon pull cord on one blind became frayed, and eventually jammed up to the point where you could no longer lift and lower the blinds. That is when I decided it finally needed replacing, so naturally I came straight back to Select Blinds. Initially, I searched the website for something similar to what I already had, and after not finding a near match, I ended up calling customer service for assistance. The representative I got couldn't not have been nicer, or more helpful, which made me glad that I had called. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. The order was processed and shipped quickly, and I received it promptly. Upon unpacking it, I noticed some slight differences from my original selection, but all and all it was a pretty close match to my originals. Now the disappointing part...the pre-cut holes in the mounting brackets where not designed correctly. The holes that are supposed to be used for the screws are not accessible with a drill because those small holes are also aligned with small holes on the opposite side of the bracket, where you would normally place your drill through to reach the screws. Same for the larger holes; they're aligned with each other, when it should be large hole/small hole. With this design, since you cannot use a drill, you have to use a screwdriver in order to affix the brackets, which as you can imagine, is an extremely difficult mount. (If I could post a picture of the bracket here, I would). Luckily, my old brackets from my original order in 2011 were able to accommodate the new blind, albeit far from the perfect fit that it should have been. Nevertheless, this very important part of the process is very frustrating and time consuming. I also noticed the quality of construction to not be as high grade as before either. In fact, opening and closing the blinds is not as smooth as you'd expect from this price point, it takes much more effort than seems necessary. You can tell that Select Blinds has decided to cut corners on the materials, etc. Overall, I am satisfied, but not overwhelmed like I was the first go-round. If I need to replace any other remaining blinds, then I will be inclined to skip over Select Blinds going forward, since the quality is not what it used to be for the price. The customer service I received on the phone though, was exceptional.
