Love the price and the look, but NO installation instructions and unclear as to how to open and close slats consistently.

Ordering was easy. Price was good. Shipping was fast. Installation was straight-forward. The blinds look good. We ordered the cordless version and the only concern we have is with the cordless operation. Raising and lowering the blinds works, but it is not nearly as smooth as other products we sampled. You really have to pull on then to lower the blinds. And because the control is not precise, lowering then all the way to the window sill is a challenge. Usually they raise back up about an inch or so on their own. This is not a deal-breaker, just something to be aware of. What is a real challenge is getting the louvers to tilt at the correct angle. Because these are completely cordless there is no want to tilt the louvers. Instead the louvers tilt upwards when you raise the blinds and downwards when you lower them. This means that if you want the blinds lowered all the way to the sill, but have the louvers open so you can see out, you must actually lower the blinds PAST the sill just the right amount, and then raise them some to get the louvers to tilt up, and hope the bottom bar rests exactly on the sill. And because there is a lack of precision, this is quite a challenge. Even when the bottom bar is not all the way down, getting the correct angle on the louvers is difficult. Remember I said that they tend to raise back up a bit when you let go of the bottom bar? This causes the angle of the louvers to change when you let go. So overall they are good blinds, but knowing what I know now, I would definitely have ordered the version with the wand for better control the angle of the louvers.

Disappointed

These blinds look fabulous when closed, and I thought they were easy to install. However, for the most part, I am seriously disappointed with them. I ordered 17 sets. Ten of the sets went in the same room, a sun room with ten windows that are in pairs or sets - two sets of two windows and two sets of three windows. When the blinds are closed they look great, but getting them closed evenly and consistently is quite a challenge. It's weird; even though the windows are the same height, the blinds end (bottom rail) at slightly different levels. I am not crazy about that, but I can live with it. The big problem is opening them. For one, you have to lift up the extra slats (slack at the bottom) to grasp the bottom rail, and then perform a delicate balancing act to get them all open exactly the same. The length difference is really noticeable when they are open!! I just installed them, and can already see that keeping the bottom rail & slats clean will be a challenge in the future. Being a sun room, I want those blinds open daily, but it is a total hassle to do so. The best solution I have found is to fully raise the blinds, and then pull them all the way back down. There is no tilting the bottom rail to have them all close evenly. The next issue I have is that out of these ten sets of blinds, three of them were missing end caps on the bottom rail, so I have to keep pushing metal rods back into the bottom rail. That'll be a great place for spiders to nest up if I cannot get the piece for them. Finally, they have limited functionality compared to the older style blinds. The very bottom slat lays flat, so there's an open gap at the bottom of every window. And, they cannot be closed upward. Traditional blinds can be closed by tilting them up or down, which affects whether you can see down through the blinds or people can see up through the blinds. Since these windows are low, I'd like to close them with an upward so I can see down through the slats and people cannot see up in them, but that's not possible with these. For single windows, like the bedroom or kitchen, I suppose the tilting and closing issue isn't as big of a deal, though you're still putting your hands on the slats daily - they'll be filthy in no time, and of course, there is the open space at the bottom and inability to tilt them upward when they're closed. I do not recommend these blinds, and in the future do not intend to buy them again.

Hard to install

The 2" faux wood cordless blinds are a very good product, but installation is quite a challenge. No instructions are sent, and I dowloaded the wrong instructions from the confusing website at first. Spent half an hour on the phone to SelectrBlinds to finally receive the correct instructions. These are pictures only, no words, hard to understand and difficult to implement. Be prepared for hours of effort and frustration.
