Wouldn't Recommend SelectBlinds



I’d give the shades themselves four stars. But, overall, I would give SelectBlinds zero stars if I could - because of the horrendous experience dealing with customer service if something is wrong with your order. Three of the four shades I ordered arrived with very obvious problems. They were relatively minor defects, but clear defects nonetheless: On each shade, the bottom bars were constructed and/or assembled poorly. On two of them, the white plastic part (which is meant to be covered by fabric) was too long and stuck out on one end. On the other, the bar was too short and caused the fabric to bunch up on one side. I sent detailed photos to SelectBlinds with evidence of the defects. This wasn’t a problem with measurements - the widths of the shades and top bars were perfect. Anyone with two eyes would tell you that the bottom bars were defective. And yet customer service was nightmare to work with, over the course of TWO MONTHS. They would ask for photos, I’d send them, then several days later they’d respond asking for totally different photos. Then they’d ask if I tried troubleshooting, but there is literally nothing to troubleshoot - it’s a problem with how the shades were constructed. This continued for weeks. It became obvious that SelectBlinds was giving me the runaround and was just unwilling to fix a very obvious problem with the shades. I finally received an email acknowledging the company’s fault in sending defective shades and offering to replace all of them. I replied to discuss my options, and then the customer service rep completely disappeared. I followed up three times and never heard a word back after two more weeks. I called once again and finally got through to another rep. In the end, I decided to live with the defective shades because the thought of receiving new ones that might have their own issues - and therefore having to continue dealing with SelectBlinds - sounded too frustrating. If they offered replacements two months earlier, when this all began, I absolutely would have accepted them. If you purchase from SelectBlinds, know you’re doing it for value, not necessarily quality and definitely not customer service. You get what you pay for: affordable shades that will probably look good overall but may have some defects, plus awful customer service that can’t be relied on to fix the company’s own mistakes.

3rd strikes.... this is the 5th set of blinds I've ordered from Select Blinds in the past five years and the 3rd time the color I got was very different than the sample I used to order. This time I asked them to allow me to return the blinds and they refused. I ordered charcoal gray, the sample was charcoal gray, and what I got was a medium tone brownish gray. I paid $700 for two shades I cannot use. Very disappointing as I like their roller shades, but I'll be looking for another company in the future.
