Great shades if you want it dark

These shades are awesome if you're looking for seriously room darkening shades. Other than a very thin bit of light coming down both sides (which would be unavoidable with any type of shade), even in the middle of the day the rooms are very dark. Pitch black at night. Although some are harder to pull down than others (we got the no strings type) and one has some wrinkles in the fabric, I would absolutely recommend them.

Total Blackout!

I just purchased and installed this cellular shade on a 4'x4' window. I have the morning sun directly hitting this window. These shades totally block out the sun. There is some sun that comes through the edges. For this I bought white foam tape for $3.00 at Home Depot and installed it around the inside window edges. My only recommendation is that you order the shades at least 3" longer than your window height. They tend to contract a bit when sitting on the window ledge. In my case for a 48" height I ordered them 51" and it fits perfect.

Ugly, cheap, yet functional

I was taken in by the 'fabric' description. Unfortunately these shades look and feel like aluminum foil backed paper. Quite ugly and feels incredibly cheap. They are functional (good at blocking the light), were cut to the right size, and reasonably easy to install. So if you are in a bind and need something better than peel and stick, then these could work for a while.

Nice shade

The shade is very nice and because the window is out of reach, we ordered it with a remote control which has to be used very close to the motor. My husband, who installed the shade, wanted me to note a couple of things on the installation instructions. "TOOLS YOU WILL NEED" should list a 3/32 drill bit that is called for on page 6. A 5" clearance is needed on the motor side--not 2" as stated in Step 1.
