Measuring Instructions

Pleated shades have gorgeous pleats that give your space a great texture. And don’t forget about the color choices and that they can save you money on your energy bills.

Instructions for Inside Mounted Pleated Shades

Depth Requirements

  • With pleated shades, there is a depth requirement if you want an inside mount. Look at the “Product Info” tab to find out more.

Measuring the width

Measure the width
  • To find the exact width measurement you’ll use when ordering, measure from left to right in the window frame. Make sure to do it three times, at the top, the middle, and the bottom.
  • That’s your width.

Measuring the height

Measure the height
  • To find the exact width measurement you’ll use when ordering, measure from top to bottom in the window frame. Make sure to do it three times, at the top left, the center, and the top right. And do measure all the way down to the bottom of the window sill.
  • That’s your height.

Instructions for Outside Mounted Pleated Shades

An outside mount covers all of the window opening and frame, so there are some additions you’ll need to make to order the correct size. We will make your product according to your measurements, and we won’t change those measurements in any way.

Flat surface requirements

  • If you want an outside mount, you have to first determine if you have enough space. If not, it won’t work. You’ll need about 2 ½” of flat space. To find the exact specifications, read the information under the “Product Info” tab.

Measuring the width

Measure the width
  • Measure the top, middle, and bottom of the window to determine the width.
  • Look at those three measurements and make note of the largest one. Then add at least 4” to that number to make sure it covers the window completely.
  • You now have the right width to use when ordering.

Measuring the height

Measure the height
  • Measure the top left, center, and the top right to the bottom of the window sill to determine the height.
  • Look at those three measurements and make note of the largest one. Then add at least 4” to that number to make sure it covers the entire window.
  • You now have the right width to use when ordering.
