There are some really cool ways to customize your new horizontal wood blinds. An upgraded crown valance adds an additional touch of class to your room. Most of our 2" horizontal blinds come with an upgraded 3" valance, and our 2 ½" Signature Wood Blinds include an elegant 5" crown valance.

Horizontal blinds, whether wood blinds or faux wood blinds, are raised and lowered by using a lift system that requires a thin cord to run vertically through each slat. Depending on the width of your window blind, there are normally 2, and sometimes 3, cords. These are called ladders. A great way to further customize your custom wood blinds is to choose the “no holes privacy" option. For a very small upgrade charge, we will make your wood blinds with hidden ladders. Rather than drill the tiny holes in the slats to thread the cord, the ladders will be attached behind the slats. This gives you two distinct benefits. First, the slats are solid, allowing no light to filter through the tiny holes, and secondly, the overall look is cleaner with the solid slats.

You can accomplish the same benefit of no light filtering through by adding cloth tapes to your custom blinds order. The wood blinds are made the same way, with the tiny holes drilled for the ladders, but the cloth tapes cover the ladders, thus providing the same level of privacy as the no holes option. The cloth tapes are a great way to further coordinate colors in your room, and provide a very rich and warm feel.

For windows that are in a hard to reach place, we offer motorized tilt as an option. By using a battery powered remote, you can tilt the slats open and closed.
