The blinds look great and were relatively easy to install. We did get a couple of long units and those were dented upon delivery. But the valances cover the defects. The instructions on the box said to lay them flat, but the delivery people had them standing up diagonally in our doorway when we arrived home from work.

I have ordered the hardwood blinds and the top down/bottom up room darkeners and I couldn't be happier. My windows look great both from the inside and the outside. Custom made wood blinds bring a rich look and warm feel to any room. SelectBlinds' 2" American Hardwood blinds are made from kiln-dried wood, giving durability to handle some of the most severe weather conditions. American wood blinds come standard with a crown molded valance, tassel ended pulls, and a contoured bottom rail. These features insure that your windows look like they are fashioned with custom made real wood blinds. Naturally our American wood blinds are made in the USA, and as with all of our products they come with a limited lifetime warranty.

Options

  • 1 1/2" cotton tape option creates endless design possibilities.
  • 2 on 1 or 3 on 1 headrail available for wide windows over the maximum recommended single blind width i.e. Sliding glass doors.
  • Cut-outs available for chair rail, tile, door knobs, etc.
  • No holes-Privacy feature available which eliminates light leaking through the route holes.

Measuring Instructions For

Inside Mount
- Inside Mount

Width:
  • Measure the exact width (left to right) of the inside edge of the window frame in three places (top, middle and bottom).
  • Take the smallest of the three measurements.
  • Write down that size making sure that it is the first number of the measurement. This is the width you will order.
    • *production department will deduct 1/4 inch of width on each side of blind, total of 1/2 inch on inside mounted blinds to allow for mounting brackets.

Height:
  • Measure the exact height (top to bottom) from the top inside edge down to the window sill in three places.
  • Take the largest of the three measurements.
  • Write down that size making sure that it is the second number of the measurement. This is the height you will order.

Measuring Instructions For

Outside Mount
- Outside Mount

Width:
  • Measure the exact width (left to right) of the wooden or metal window frame or how wide you would like the blind to be.
  • Make sure to measure wide enough as to cover the entire window and provide maximum light gap coverage. Example: If the window opening is 36", it might be helpful to order 40". This will provide 2" coverage on each side of the window.
  • There is no rule on the width of blinds other than to make sure that it is wide enough to cover the opening.
  • Keep in mind that the valance will be about 2" wider than width ordered.
  • Write down that size making sure that it is the first number of the measurement. This is the width you will order.

Height:
  • Measure the height you would like the blind to be by measuring top to bottom.
  • We recommend adding about 3 or 4 inches to this number to insure maximum light gap coverage and to cover the window completely.
  • Please be sure to know that the height measurement will always include the headrail. Example: if the height ordered is 50" this will be the height including the headrail (from the very top of the headrail to the bottom rail).
  • You will want to mount the headrail above the window frame. Please make a note that some windows have trim that might interfere with mounting so it's important to measure above the trim if this is the case.
  • Headrail is 2.25" in height.
    • *width and length measurements may vary +/- 1/8"
