I have Silouettes in a second home, but when I got a quote for a few windows in my primary residence, I almost choked (and I'm used to paying for quality!). SelectBlinds was having a sale, so while still making an investment, I figured I would give it a try and if I didn't like the "sheers" I would replace in a year. I absolutely LOVE them! In my opinion, they are as nice if not nicer than the Silouettes, go up in a breeze (did it myself - about 10 minutes per window) and provide all the light control you would ever want. I was in a hurry, so didn't get a fabric sample, but would suggest you do that because the "Arctic White" is more yellow than I'm accustom to in other product lines.

Good Housekeeping 3" Light Filtering Sheer Shades are elegant horizontal sheer shadings that control light without sacrificing privacy. The horizontal vanes can be tilted open or closed while the sheer fabric can be raised and lowered for maximum light control. Add motorization to raise and lower the shades with the push of a button. Inside mount headrail will measure ordered width minus 3/16”. Fabric will measure ordered width minus 1 1/8”.
Outside mount headrail will be ordered width plus 3/16”. Fabric will measure ordered width minus ¾”.
The window shading must only be raised a maximum of 24" in the open position to avoid damaging the fabric.
Shades come standard with a continuous cord loop.
Side mount: headrail will be ordered width minus 11/16 inches Fabric will be ordered width minus 1 5/8 inches

Measure the exact width (left to right) of the inside edge of the window frame in three places (top, middle and bottom).
Take the smallest of the three measurements.
Write down that size making sure that it is the first number of the measurement. This is the width you will order.
Deductions:
Headrail will measure ordered width minus 1/4".
Fabric will measure ordered width minus 1 1/8".
Height:
Measure the exact height (top to bottom) from the top inside edge down to the window sill in three places.
Take the largest of the three measurements.
Write down that size making sure that it is the second number of the measurement. This is the height you will order.
Measuring Instructions For
- Outside Mount
Width:
Measure the exact width (left to right) of the wooden or metal window frame or how wide you would like the blind or shade to be.
Make sure to measure wide enough as to cover the entire window and provide maximum light gap coverage. Example: If the window opening is 36", it might be helpful to order 40". This will provide 2" coverage on each side of the window.
There is no rule on the width of blinds other than to make sure that it is wide enough to cover the opening.
Write down that size making sure that it is the first number of the measurement. This is the width you will order.
Headrail will measure ordered width plus 1/4".
Fabric will measure ordered width minus 3/4".
Height:
Measure the height you would like the blind to be by measuring top to bottom.
We recommend adding about 3 or 4 inches to this number to insure maximum light gap coverage and to cover the window completely.
Please be sure to know that the height measurement will always include the headrail. Example: if the height ordered is 80" this will be the height including the headrail (from the very top of the headrail to the bottom rail).
You will want to mount the headrail above the window frame. Please make a note that some windows have trim that might interfere with mounting so it's important to measure above the trim if this is the case.
Headrail is 2 7/8" in height.
The length of the shade will be the exact length ordered when the vanes are tilted in the open position. When the vanes are tilted shut the shade will become 3/8" longer.
