The fabric panels simply fold over the next, as you raise the shade to the desired height. The Classic Fold style will give the cleanest look to your window shade when raised. The Hobbled Fold style will give you the most drapery like look to your Roman Shade. In this style, there are generous amounts of material gently cascading as your shade is raised. Finally, there is the European fold, which works much like the flat fold style. The difference is that the bottom of the shade curves like a very wide letter"U", adding a European flair to the Roman Shade.
Top Down/Bottom Up is an option on many of our roman shades. This handy little option allows you to let the window shade drop from the top, as well as rising from the bottom. This is a great way to maintain your privacy while still allowing light to come into your room.
Privacy can also be enhanced by adding a room darkening or blackout liner to you Roman Shade. These liners also improve the level of light not allowed into the room, making a great window shade for bedrooms and media rooms.
One of the most amazing and surprising features of the SelectBlinds’ Roman Shades is the ease of installation. The headrails are pre-drilled, and you only have to hold up the shade, mark with a pencil where the holes are lining up on your window frame, and drill the holes with the bit size recommended for the screws included with your window shade. Once the holes are drilled, hold the shade up, and drive in the screws.
