We recently built a sun room and were looking for some relatively inexpensive, but good quality window shades. We had purchased some room darkening shades from selectblinds before, so we returned to the website to look for a similar product. The shades have done the trick. They still allow light into the room, but when drawn allow for complete privacy. Exactly what we needed. Construction and delivery was quick. Only problems we had were a missing part, which selectblinds quickly delivered when called and one set of shades having the pull chain on the opposite side from what we ordered. Luckily, all you have to do is pop out the end pieces and move them to the opposite sides. Overall the shades have worked, however the adjustable end piece opposite the side of the pull chain needs to be more sturdy and the cord tensioners need a longer screw than what is supplied.
I ordered these blinds because our windows are extra large. The rod, hardware and fabric are really sturdy. Just be aware that people looking in from the outside at night can see shadows of the people within.
When measuring for an outside mount, be aware that the hardware will be the width your specify, but the fabric itself will be more narrow. The fabric was at least 1" shorter than I specified, maybe 1.5". I would have to measure again to be sure.
Really much better than I had hoped. Although the brackets were a little hard to install--the window corner makes it hard to use a drill--they hold just fine in drywall. The shade looks great and filters light well.
