Installation & Care Instructions for Blinds and Shades

Installing your new blinds will be a cinch. Whether you're a do-it-yourselfer or someone who's never picked up a tool in your life, you can install blinds. All that's required is:

A hand, electric or cordless drill with a 1/4" nut driver or a slotted screwdriver bit
3/32" drill bit
A pencil

Inside Mount Blind Installation

Set-Up
Locate all items needed to install your first blind. These include:
- Two brackets (labeled Left and Right) for each blind
- Screws
- Valance Clips
- Center support brackets (for blinds over 72 inches wide).
- All tools listed above
- Ladder (if needed)

Installing the mounting brackets
Notice the mounting brackets are labeled according to their respective side (LH and RH). Open one and place it on the proper side of the window opening. To mount the blind flush with the wall, secure the bracket about ½" from the front edge of the window (see Figure 1). Then do the following in order:
- Mark two diagonal holes in each bracket (L and R) with a pencil (Figure 2)
- Drill a 1" depth hole where you marked with the pencil (this step can be eliminated if you feel you can drive the screws directly in with your drill or screwdriver. (Figure 3)
- Place the bracket and secure with the provided screws with either a nut driver or slotted screwdriver bit attachment. (Figure 4)
- If your blind is over 72" wide, it will come with a center support bracket. The purpose of this bracket is to prevent sagging on larger blinds. Here's the easiest way to install: First, hang the head rail in the already installed left and right brackets. Next, slide the center support bracket on the head rail and mark its location with a pencil. Now, take the head rail down and mount the center support bracket with the included hardware screws. Replace the head rail over all 3 brackets and close the 2 outside brackets.

Installing the Valance
Unwind the cords from the blind head rail and remember not to tangle. Position the valance clips (clear, white) on the head rail about 18" apart on the head rail. Try and stay clear of the blind tracts and cords. Now, place the blind head rail into the brackets and snap the hinges closed. Lastly, insert the valance into the valance clips. (Figure 5).

Your blinds have now been successfully installed and are ready for operation!

Outside Mount Blind Installation

Set-Up
Locate all items needed to install your first blind. These include:
- Two brackets (labeled Left and Right) for each blind
- Screws
- Valance Clips
- Center support brackets (for blinds over 72 inches wide).
- All tools listed above
- Ladder (if needed)

Installing the mounting brackets
Hold the blind headrail directly over the top of the window and place it exactly where it looks centered. Make a mark to the left and right of the headrail to mark its position (Figure 1). Now place a mark approximately 1/8" outside of these two lines. This will be where the bracket is mounted. (Figure 2)

Notice the mounting brackets are labeled according to their respective side (LH and RH). Open one hinge of the mounting bracket. Then do the following in order:
- Mark two holes in the back (Figure 3) or top if applicable with the bracket positioned where you made your second mark (Figure 2)
- Drill a 1" depth hole where you marked with the pencil (this step can be eliminated if you feel you can drive the screws directly in with your drill or screwdriver. (Figure 4).
- Place the bracket and secure with the provided screws with either a nut driver or slotted screwdriver bit attachment. (Figure 5)

Installing and Valance

Optional Hold-Down Brackets
- We provide hold-down brackets with all orders and at no charge. The purpose of these brackets is to hold the bottom rail down at all times. Installation of the hold down bracket is easy. Simply release the lift cord so the blind falls towards the ground. Next, place the hold down bracket in the groove on the right and left side of the blind. Mark its location with a pencil. Now remove the bracket and secure with the hardware screws provided.
