Our 3/8" EcoTrack Double Cell Blackout Shades will help minimize heat loss and save energy dollars by closing the gap between the side of the shade and the window sill. The EcoTrack shades can be ordered with white or brown side tracks that will increase privacy and blackout the room by closing the side gaps. The EcoTracks are attached to the window frame with magnets and can be easily removed. Additionally, the double cell honeycomb fabric is notched to fit over the track and the bottom rail is fitted with specially designed end caps that allow for smooth movement along the sidetracks when raising and lowering the shade. The 3/8” Double Cell Blackout EcoTrack Shades are available with continuous cord loop option, as well as top town/bottom up option for extra privacy while still allowing some light in. As a commitment to your satisfaction, this product comes with limited lifetime warranty.

I usually order from American Blind & Wallpaper, but I will use Select Blinds from now on. The blinds were of better construction, there were more colors to chose from and they look GREAT!! easy install and great honeycomb / blackout function for TV room - the sides are a great innovation and keep the light from peeking around the side of the shades -- looks great and stops glare -- only thing is that the plastic side pieces are not completely opaque -- in bright sunlight the brown plastic seems to glow slightly -- a darker thicker plastic or metal would truly prevent all light from coming in

I like the concept of these blinds and they block our light well. The eco track does seem to reduce airflow. I bought top down bottom up blinds. When putting them down we need to pull the bottom to get them to go down. Unfortunately they do not work as well/smoothly as other honeycomb blinds I have purchased at selectblinds. They also seem like they are just a tad short even though I remeasured my windows and did it correctly. I would recommend the blinds with great caution.

Measuring Instructions for Cellular Shades

All cellular shades except VuThru and EcoTrack
Width
  • Measure the exact width (left to right) of the inside edge of the window frame in three places (top, middle and bottom).
  • Take the smallest of the three measurements.
  • Write down that size making sure that it is the first number of the measurement. This is the width you will order.
  • *Headrail will be made 1/4" less than width ordered, including endcaps. Fabric will be made 1/2 inch less than width ordered.
Height
  • Measure the exact height (top to bottom) from the top inside edge down to the window sill in three places.
  • Take the largest of the three measurements.
  • Write down that size making sure that it is the second number of the measurement. This is the height you will order.
*width and length measurements may vary +/- 1/8"

VuThru Shades
Width
  • Measure the exact width (left to right) of the inside edge of the window frame in three places (top, middle and bottom).
  • Take the smallest of the three measurements.
  • Write down that size making sure that it is the first number of the measurement. This is the width you will order.
  • Outside mount headrail will be plus 3/8". Outside mount fabric width will be ordered width.
Height
  • Measure the exact height (top to bottom) from the top inside edge down to the window sill in three places.
  • Take the largest of the three measurements.
  • Write down that size making sure that it is the second number of the measurement. This is the height you will order.
  • When the vanes are expanded (closed), the bottom rail touches the window sill. When the vanes are compressed (open), the bottom rail may lift off the sill slightly. This is normal.
*width and length measurements may vary +/- 1/8"

How to Measure EcoTrack Products

EcoTrack products are available as inside mount only.

Width
  • Measure the exact width (left to right) of the inside edge of the window frame in 3 places (top, middle, and bottom).
  • Take the smallest of the 3 measurements; this is the width that you will order.
  • Factory will make the following deductions:
       o Headrails: 1" less than width ordered.
       o Fabric: 1 1/8" less than width ordered.
  • Mounting requirements:
       o Minimum inside mount depth: 1 ½".
       o Flush inside mount: 2".
Height
  • Measure the exact height (top to bottom) from the top inside edge down to the window sill in 3 places.
  • Take the largest of the 3 measurements; this is the height that you will order.
  • Factory will make the following deductions:
       o The side tracks will be 1/8" shorter than the height ordered.
*width and length measurements may vary +/- 1/8"


All cellular shades except Vuthru
Width
  • Measure the exact width (left to right) of the wooden or metal window frame or how wide you would like the blind or shade to be.
  • Make sure to measure wide enough as to cover the entire window and provide maximum light gap coverage. Example: If the window opening is 72", it might be helpful to order 76". This will provide 2" coverage on each side of the window.
  • There is no rule on the width of blinds other than to make sure that it is wide enough to cover the opening.
  • Fabric will be made at ordered width and headrail will be ordered width plus ¼"
  • Write down that size making sure that it is the first number of the measurement.
Height
  • Measure the height you would like the blind to be by measuring top to bottom.
  • We recommend adding about 3 or 4 inches to this number to insure maximum light gap coverage and to cover the window completely.
  • Please be sure to know that the height measurement will always include the headrail. Example: if the height ordered is 50" this will be the height including the headrail (from the very top of the headrail to the bottom rail).
  • You will want to mount the headrail above the window frame. Please make a note that some windows have trim that might interfere with mounting so it's important to measure above the trim if this is the case.

VuThru Shades
Width

  • Please be sure to know that the height measurement will always include the headrail. Example: if the height ordered is 80" this will be the height including the headrail (from the very top of the headrail to the bottom rail).
