Bought 4 sets for my daughter's room, got the double cell room darkening that can also be dropped from the top. Super easy install, but I disagree with their instructions. I suggest adding about 1/8 to your inside mount horizontal measure, and another 1-2 inches length as they make them super tight and it is hard to get the blinds all the way to the bottom. Also, even though we ordered the white, the company uses beige in all the trim (unless you ask at the time of order - found out after calling the company). Had them a month, still hard to bring down all the way, and lifting them is not great either. Suggest you try somewhere else.
Overall I'd say that these shades are a good value and well made. We wanted both the blackout and insulating properties of a cell shade and the cordless feature, as we used them in our 2 year old's room. They seem very sturdy and were a breeze to install. I had to build some custom blocks to use them on an inside mount, but that's due to our unusual window molding.
We got the up/down feature as well... which is were I found the only real weakness in this product. The up/down functionality is a great feature and allows maximum flexibility in window coverage. However, the mechanism on these shades leaves a lot to be desired.
Once the shades have been down for a few hours, it is virtually impossible to push them back up without a complex, two-handed process. You either have to bring the top rail down to meet the bottom rail and then slide both to the top. Or painfully, slowly raise the bottom rail, while holding the shade above it from buckling out. I hope that over time, the cells "relax" enough that this won't be and issue, but after one month, it's not gotten any easier.
I'd have a hard time recommending these shades in this exact configuration. I just think they are too heavy to work well w/ the up/down feature... at least where opening them is concerned. The shades themselves are built very well and I have a feeling that they might work fine with a corded raising mechanism.
I ordered the top down / bottom up cordless version, but the bottom up functionality does not work. Even if you leave the blinds fully open for 2 days, and then close and lift very slowly, once you get half way, they stop going up, and you basically have to force them the last half of the way. They bottom of the blinds also do not hang level (there are instructions to level, which I followed, but they only level the top of the blinds, not the bottom).
I found the order process to be easy. The color samples came quickly. When the product arrived I was pleased with the quality. Installation was a breeze. Overall I am quite satisified with the blinds.
I purchased these shades for some windows that face a school. The school has parking lot lights that are lit throughout the night. It makes it very hard to sleep when your bedroom is as light as day! These shades really do block out all the light! The only exception is the space between the blinds and window edge, but it is pretty minimal. I also liked the number of colors that these blinds come in. My local hardware stores only carry black, brown, and white. I did request samples to make sure I got a good match. The samples are a great idea - please request these if you have any question about the colors.
