Winter is on its way out, and spring is taking its place. You may be ready for warmer weather, but is your home ready?
You don’t have to change your whole house, but just a few adjustments or updates will give your space a new look and feel, just in time for spring.
1. New Window Coverings (of course!)
With the variety of colors, patterns, and fabrics, you could create the perfect spring-ready home. From floral and stripes to bold solids and soft neutrals, the style options are endless. But upgrading your window coverings is more than just looks. It’s also about function.
Now that the days are getting longer, and that sun will get warmer, you’ll want to take advantage of that. Light filtering shades, for instance, takes the best part of the natural light and gently diffuses it. This gives your home a soft, flattering glow.
And no matter if your spring is still cold or starting to get a little too warm already, like here in Arizona, you can keep your home’s temperature comfortable with insulated shades.
2. Lightweight Bedding
As the weather starts to slowly heat up, you’re going to want more lightweight bedding. The beginning of spring can be hard, however, because the temperature can shift so suddenly. An easy solution is layering. If you layer the right way, you can pull up more blankets if you’re chilly or push blankets down if you’re too warm, all without having to get out of bed or completely remake your bed.
3. Fresh Flowers
Nothing says springtime more than fresh flowers throughout your home. Not only will they give your décor a little boost of color, but the soft fragrance will make you wish that spring would never turn to summer.
This addition doesn’t have to be pricey. Stop by the side of the road and pick some wildflowers. That’s all it really takes, and you’re going to love the change you see in your home.
4. Decorate with Fruit
One easy way to bring the beauty of spring indoors is by decorating with fruit – fake or real, it doesn’t matter. Fill a lovely glass bowl with lemons or limes for a quick burst of color in your kitchen. Or add apples to a vase for a unique look. For a one-of-a-kind look, opt for the most unique, exotic fruit you can find.
